E3 2021 Day 4: Nintendo Doesn’t Want Fans to Co-Stream Its Nintendo Direct Showcase

Nintendo has released a statement for its fans, asking them to not co-stream the E3 2021 Nintendo direct presentation. The company has also posted a tweet in its official Twitter account for the same. However, it allows users to broadcast the event in some capacity. The tweet gives you all the details on what can and cannot be broadcasted. Mirror distribution of Nintendo direct video and audio during the live distribution of Nintendo direct is not allowed. However, simultaneously viewing distribution without mirror distribution is possible.

Types of content that are not acceptable

- Gameplay videos without any creative input or commentary are not permitted.
- Just a complete copy of content created by someone else is also not acceptable.
- A simple upload or live stream of an existing Nintendo video is not permitted.
- The use of Nintendo’s official game content that has been officially released by Nintendo is not permitted.
- Monetization forms other than separately specified by Nintendo for their intellectual property for any kind of commercial purposes are not allowed. Monetization of reaction videos on Facebook, Twitch, Youtube, and Nico Nico( Japanese website) is allowed.
- Fans are allowed to use the intellectual property of a third party. However, obtaining any third-party permission is necessary.
- Stating that any of the videos are being sponsored by Nintendo official is not permitted.
- It is allowed to post images and videos using only Nintendo’s game work if they are not for any kind of commercial purposes.
Fans can still stream their live reactions. However, those live stream reactions cannot include any kind of audio as well as video from the direct. Once the direct ends completely, live reaction videos with audio and video from the direct can be published online. Additionally, there is a list of rules and regulations that Nintendo has requested the viewers as well as content creators to follow very strictly. Nintendo will also take the required legal action to take down videos that break the guidelines.
These are some of the additional rules that every content creator has to follow very strictly. Nintendo confirms its E3 2021 Nintendo Direct live presentation will start at 9 am PT/12 PM ET/6 pm CET on June 15, 2021.
