Now, to add to the fans’ misery, the community manager at EA has revealed a shocking fact about 2042’s feedback policies. In a Twitter thread focussing on 2042’s forum for communications, the official claimed, “I’m not engaged on Reddit anymore – there’s no value in pretending its a constructive environment.”
Battlefield 2042 official upsets fans with controversial tweet
Following the initial criticism and backlash from the community, the developers at EA DICE have tried various ways to improve the situation for Battlefield fans. However, it seems as if there is no saving 2042 as it recently made the #12 spot on Steam’s Hall of Shame that features the worst titles of all time on the platform.
Now, the eye-opening words from an official have sent shock waves through the community. In the thread embedded here, Lead Community Manager Adam Freeman at EA Studios answers a question from a fan. But what Freeman said in regard to Reddit has not sat well with the fans.

Following the tweet, fans openly called out publishers EA and developers DICE for their actions in recent months. The community even pointed the figure at them for unclear plans and road maps or lack thereof.
After promises of greatness, you failed to deliver in spectacular fashion and then say nothing, for months. We get upset that we were lied to, but it’s all DICE acting like “boo hoo us, you guys are mean”. No road map, no clear ideas on where this game is going, no communication.
Additionally, some individuals even highlighted that the idea of ignoring the Reddit community only makes matters worse. It adds to the already present feeling of lack of feedback implementation and the fans feeling “unheard” by the devs. They suggested the feedback from subreddits of the game is essential because of the community’s passion for the franchise.
on reddit/twitter etc... I saw can't just accept they failed and delivered a buggy mess game that is millions miles away from what we expect for a battlefield, when you will start to take critism in consideration and stopping doing the ostrich being convince that 2/3
Battlefield 2042’s fans react to EA community manager’s decision
Fans on Twitter directly took digs at the officials for everything that went wrong with Battlefield 2042. Moreover, they criticized the developers for the horrible state of Battlefield 2042.
Yeah, Reddit can get toxic. But there is also no value in pretending this game can be saved or that the current DICE is anything like the DICE that created BF3. So yeah, good luck with your game. You gonna need it.

Interestingly, a few fans, on the other hand, seemed to understand Freeman’s point. They seemingly understood the community manager’s point of view and asked if Reddit’s criticism would be open to discussion in the future. Surprisingly, the EA employee responded to these questions.
Of course, a few individuals expressed their disbelief and disappointment through GIFs and memes.
Before the shocking tweets from the official, the fans’ sole reason for dissatisfaction was the game in itself. However, Freeman’s claims have now infuriated most of the community on Twitter, as well as the subreddits in question, r/battlefield2042, and r/battlefield.
