He also had a good following on Twitch, until he was banned from the platform on accounts of a major controversy. The young and successful Ohioan has always been known for his quirky and controversial nature.

One of his most antic on-stream stunts happened yesterday when IShowSpeed decided to light a Pikachu firecracker on fire. To celebrate the iconic day of July 4th, Watkins lighted a firecracker on his bed. Little did he know what was next!

He sure did, and that too, live on a YouTube stream. And, the result wasn’t favorable at all. As the video shows, the firecracker went from calm to ferocious in a matter of seconds. IShowSpeed didn’t expect such a violent situation. He screamed and jumped for help from his mother as the firecracker took its full form.

The firecracker ceased after a while, but smoke filled IShowSpeed’s room, causing the fire alarm to continue beeping. Later on, a team of firefighters also paid him and his mother a visit to survey the situation. Moreover, the entire situation was streamed live to fans, who were shocked to see IShowSpeed’s bizarre stunt.

It’s true that Watkins didn’t expect the firecracker to be this violent. He looked genuinely scared throughout the situation. “I didn’t know, I didn’t know, I thought it was the popping ones, maa.” he defended himself when his mother screamed at him.

However, by lighting a firecracker in a bedroom, IShowSpeed took things a bit too far. There was also a box of firecrackers present on the bed, which the Pikachu firecracker could have triggered, causing a major fire. Luckily, the fire didn’t escalate enough to affect his house.
