At last, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware’s team listened to the feedback. They just announced that they are working on fixing the Dark Souls series. In order to do it right, the online servers for Dark Souls will remain closed until the launch of the upcoming, anticipated title Elden Ring.

However, this latest announcement comes across as more of a relief for the fans of Elden Ring. Due to the issues of hacking in the online gameplay of Dark Souls, there were concerns over this year’s biggest release as well.

Elden Ring fans welcome the huge step from the developers!

In case you missed it, players had reported serious issues of constant online hacking in the Dark Souls titles. Moreover, some of them were doubtful of the fate of Elden Ring as well upon its launch. Because of an RCE (remote code execution) exploit that was found to allow cheaters to take control of an individual’s PC.

Well, they need not worry anymore, as Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have officially taken an initiative against the problem. In fact, they provided a major update on the same on the Twitter page for Dark Souls.

While shedding light on this matter, they mentioned that fixing Dark Souls for PC will require some time. And fans will need to wait until the debut of Elden Ring later this month.

“We will make an announcement as soon as the schedule is determined for resuming online services.”

Moreover, the developing team also wrote in its message they are making sure that Elden Ring remains free from any exploit when it arrives. For that, an investigation will commence, implementing proper security measures in the open-world fantasy RPG.

Upon witnessing such a response, fans also showered their praise on FromSoftware and Bandai Namco. Most of them were relieved to know that despite the present announcement, Elden Ring won’t face any kind of delay.

The much anticipated game releases on February 25th, 2022. The game will arrive for major platforms like Xbox Series X and Series, PS5, PS4 Xbox One, and PC.
