Elden Ring Player Makes a Mockery of Its Difficulty With Earth Shattering Speed Run

FromSoftware’s Elden Ring requires huge dedication from its players. So far, that’s been the case, with many players ending up stretching their session for hours with little success in progressing past a certain point in the game. However, there are a few players who have not only finished it already but in record time as well.
It seems like March is the month of incredible Elden Ring speed runs. Following a recent instance of a streamer completing it under an hour, there’s another player who’s now broken that milestone. And it’s none other than the popular speed runner, Distortion2.

As is already known, the open-world fantasy RPG is a gigantic game with an unpredictably uninviting level of difficulty. Due to this, it’s regarded as one of the hardest single-player titles of 2022.

However, speed runners are also known for their amazing skills when it comes to finishing any game in little time. A few days ago, it was LilAggy, and now it’s Distortion2.
As reported by Kotaku, Distortion2’s YouTube channel uploaded a gameplay video of Elden Ring. The speed run clip showed that the player eventually succeeded in completing the entire campaign in just under 37 minutes. By the time Distortion2 finished Elden Ring, after outperforming the Elden Beast, the in-game overall duration recorded was 36 minutes and 20 seconds.

That’s just astonishing because it’s an impossible task to achieve for any regular player.
Now that that’s out of the way, the coming days may bring even more surprises in terms of shorter speed run records. Till then, the current record will stay with Distortion2 for the time being.
In case you all missed it, the biggest launch of 2022 is also one of the best-rated games of all time on Metacritic. And Elden Ring is now available for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
