Electronic Arts Acquires WB Games Studio ‘Playdemic’ for a Whopping $1.4 Billion

Electronic Arts (EA) has recently made a ground-breaking acquisition that involves billions of dollars. The studio paid $1.4 billion to acquire Playdemic from Warner Media. It is the same studio that has produced the remarkable sports simulation title, Golf Cash. This title has already won multiple awards and is available on Android, iOS, and Facebook.

This section of users usually includes hyper-casual gamers, who merely play games to pass time. This will require a brand new outlook for the studio, as it tries to gain a respectable position. Golf Cash has managed to gain recognition from reputed organizations within the industry. It includes AFTA Games Mobile Game of the Year (2018), Mobile Games Awards Game of the Year (2018), PocketGamer.biz Game of the Year (2017), and The Independent Game Developers’ Association (TIGA) Awards Game of the Year (2017).

Warner Bros’ president, David Haddad, shared his thoughts about the recent development.
