On June 5, 2023, streaming platform Twitch stunned the world with its fresh guidelines and terms of service. The stricter guidelines sparked a debate among the creators. Most of them were already disappointed with their current contracts and hoped for a brighter future. Alas! Twitch crushed their dream, slamming rigorous terms effective from July 1.

So, its rival, Kick, took the opportunity to invite all creators, flashing their simple yet alluring scheme. And in between of it, former Twitter CEO Elon Musk also tried his chance as he hinted towards entering the streaming space.

Twitter to be a platform for streamers? – Elon Musk enters Twitch x Kick controversy 

Streaming has always been a trivial topic in the Esports world. While it holds most of the stake in terms of popularity, the newcomers have it hard.

After Twitch released its TOS, a storm could be witnessed on Twitter. Content creators demanded a re-check and Kick seized the opportunity. They promised to pay the $25 fee the Amazon-owned platform claimed to charge if someone terminates the contract. And an underdog woke up while these two giants were fighting for the top spot.

Apparently, Twitter’s CEO Elon Musk hinted at entering the streaming scene. When Twitter user Steven uploaded a comment saying, ‘Twitch BEGGING to be disrupted by Twitter tbh,’ Elon Musk took the opportunity to answer it. He said, ‘Ok fine we’ll do it,’ instantly stirring the pot. Now, there are a few things to understand if Twitter decides to enter into the streaming scene.

Elon Musk has a major influence over the world, allowing him to generate massive viewership on the platform.
