This hilarious story is narrated in the latest book written by Walter Isaacson. The author addressing the Cyberpunk 2077 episode wrote, “When Grimes was doing the voice recordings for the cyborg pop star she played in the video game Cyberpunk 2077, he showed up at the studio wielding a two-hundred-year-old gun and insisted that they give him a cameo. “The studio guys were like sweating,” says Grimes in the passage. Musk then admits to the whole thing himself, saying he told CDPR staff he was “armed by not dangerous.”

Later, Musk had described the reason for being so reluctant on the cameo. According to him, the concepts that founded the narrative of Cyberpunk 2077 felt “too close to home”.
