One of the biggest gaming content creators on YouTube, Jacksepticeye, recently shared his opinions on Squanch Games’ new title, High on Life. The wacky sci-fi game has all the signature looks and characteristics of the previous Justin Roiland Creations. Which might just be its biggest flaw, according to Jack.

High on Life is a comedic first-person shooter game with action-adventure and Metroidvania elements. It has the same visual and obscurely witty dialogues as Rick and Morty. The Game so far has received mixed reviews from fans and critics. It has a 9/10 rating on Steam but managed to score only 68% on Metacritic

The Irish Gaming YouTuber and Coffee enthusiast, Jacksepticeye, is truly a Jack of many trades. He creates a variety of content on his channel, including self-directed short movies and celebrity interviews. But his main claim to fame is his gaming content. Jack’s Witty humor and passion for video games (especially details such as reflections and lights), make him one of the best ‘let’s play gamers’ on the platform.

Jack’s main selling is his commentating abilities. His quick, witty, and hilarious words add another layer of intrigue to the games he plays. But games such as ‘high on life’ which have way too much dialogue, ruin his appeal.

I thought about it but I remembered any sort of Squanch Games, the Justin Roiland games that I’ve played before. There’s a lot of talking in them, there’s a lot of jokes in them. They are usually pretty funny and fun to play. But someone who commentates over games as my job, there’s a lot of when can I speak and I am just waiting around…said Jacksepticeye.

Future of gaming on YouTube

Jack talked about how the content pattern has changed drastically on YouTube. He pointed out how YouTubers don’t do longer series anymore. The attention span of people is getting reduced more and more, that’s why it is very hard to keep someone excited about a long let’s play series.

This is the reason why Jack is very choosy when picking games for a series. Unless it is a massive game like “God of War: Ragnarok”, Jack doesn’t bother making a lengthy let’s play series on his channel.
