Every PC User’s Dream of Playing PlayStation Exclusives Hits a Massive Roadblock

If sources are to be believed, Sony might have decided to keep its extensive and coveted catalog of games to itself, as PC releases aren’t are a priority for Sony at the moment. It seems like Gamers who have been much eagerly waiting to play games like Ghost of Tsushima and God of War might have to wait for some more time to get the hand of PC releases, as Sony wants to work on PlayStation releases instead.

Sony on to focus more on PlayStation releases

Sony Studio Boss Herman Hulst has dashed every hope for the regular PC release. Speaking to Game Informer, Hulst says,

“Typically, there have been about two years between the release on our platform and the PC platform. But you can rely on us to continue to create platform-defining exclusive content for PlayStation–that’s part of the reason why we exist”.

Hulst further added on explaining why so many games remain trapped on PlayStation by stating, “It’s really important for us to squeeze the maximum out of the platform, to build showcases for the platform, and really let the audience see what these great features are contributing to the overall experience.”

Is Sony missing out due to long wait-time between releases?

Sony’s rival Xbox release their console equivalent titles along with PC. Microsoft is expected to heat the atmosphere in the gaming platform, now that they have Bethesda under their wing along with the future of major franchises such as Fallout and The Elder Scrolls.

The gap between PlayStation and PC releases is roughly three to four years, but there may be exceptions to this anomaly, such as Death Stranding. This anomaly can be understood pretty well with the example of Horizon Zero Dawn, which was released on PS4 in early 2017 and on PC in August 2020.

Leaks suggest that an Uncharted 4 PC release is on charts, but there hasn’t been any official word from Sony. Jim Ryan has promised that more Playstation exclusives are on the way.
