PlayStation fans rejoice as a new console may be released soon. A “majority of studios” is expected to receive development kits of the upcoming PS 5 Pro, codenamed “Project Trinity”.

Set to be launched in November 2024, the new PlayStation 5 Pro seems to have a number of upgrades that will certainly allow Sony to take back much of its lost territories in the market.

Is PlayStation working under the radar?

With Xbox set to take over Activision-Blizzard, the community was already speculating some sort of move by Sony. The year-long tensions regarding the acquisition took out some pieces from both console makers. With the green signal for the takeover, Sony is expected to lose a number of franchises in the future. Under such circumstances, rumors of a new PlayStation console have been doing rounds across social media. Now, it looks that something is truly in the works by PlayStation as an industry insider has finally revealed some tangible information.

During the trials, a lot of information was brought to the court by both Sony and Microsoft. Fans on both sides cried foul and claimed the righteousness of their favorite consoles. However, the leaked information during the trials hinted at some new PlayStation console to be released later this year, while more details about the release weren’t made public. However, now an industry insider has given away more details about a whole new PlayStation 5 console, set for release in the middle of next year.

A lot of details about “Project Trinity” is finally available for the community and fans can’t wait to get an official statement from the makers themselves.

Details of the PS5 Pro

While the exact specifications of the PlayStation 5 Pro haven’t been disclosed entirely, there is still a lot to work with at the moment. The upcoming console will be boasting a 30 WGP processor and 18,000 MT/s memory. The graphics are also expected to take a leap forward with an “8k performance mode” being introduced in the PS5 Pro. At 4k resolutions, the console is expected to have a fixed FPS rate of 60. With this, accelerated Ray Tracing is expected to provide an even further boost to the visuals.

The console also has been revealed to be in the works since 2022. With Sony taking its sweet time with the new console, the community can only expect the new PS5 to be something that’ll redefine market standards. It’s expected that the PlayStation 5 Pro will be the last major launch by the developers, as a PS6 may be in the books for 2028.
