Animal Crossing: New Horizons has created an enormous impact in the community since its release. Owing to its immense success, New Horizons has become the most successful title in the Animal Crossing franchise. Moreover, a few months back, Nintendo even revealed that ACNH is the second-highest selling title for the Switch.

With the release of ACNH, the Animal Crossing franchise become one of the most popular Nintendo franchises along with Super Mario. In addition to that, developers draw a lot of players’ attention to New Horizons after the launch of the 2.0 update.

Therefore, veterans are only experiencing the past events from last year with a few sets of new items. Although veterans are upset at developers for giving up on New Horizons, many newcomers are enjoying their in-game journey. Interestingly, another popular event will make its return to ACNH for northern hemisphere players.

Everything to know about the upcoming Bug Off event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Starting from June, the Bug Off event will make its return to New Horizons for northern hemisphere players. It is held during each of the four Summer months on either the third or fourth Saturday of the month. For northern hemisphere players, it takes place on the 4th Saturday while for southern hemisphere players it will be on the 3rd Saturday of the month.

Northern hemisphere players will be able to take part in the event on June 25, July 23, August 27, and September 24. The Bug Off event is hosted by Flick and you can find him in the Residence Area on the day of the event. Moreover, in order to start the event, you will first have to interact with Flick.

After that, he will task you with catching as many bugs as possible during a three-minute time period. For each bug you catch, you will earn one point; however, you will earn an extra two points every time that you catch three bugs. Later, you can exchange these points for exclusive Bug-Off items later.

The event will start at sharp 9 AM and will shut down at 6 PM. In order to exchange the points for bug-themed prize items, select the “Redeem Points” option while interacting with Flick. Interestingly, you can exchange 10 points for one bug-theme prize item. Since there are a total of 13 items, you will need a total of 130 points in your collection.
