In the world of gaming, very few titles have been able to give what Naughty Dog’s Magnum opus, The Last of Us, had offered. Initially released back in 2013, the game revolutionized the industry and set a new standard in video game storytelling. Many believed that this amazing title was bound to be adapted into a faithful live-action format. 

The co-creator and director of the games, Neil Druckmann, had the same dream. But unfortunately, he had to face many obstacles in his efforts to offer a faithful adaptation of the original series to the fans. And almost 10 years after the initial release, the dreams have finally become reality. 

With ‘Chernobyl’ famed writer Craig Mazin, Neil booted up the development of a live-action adaptation that satisfies both critics and fans. Eventually, the efforts gave birth to the recently released “The Last of Us” television series, produced by HBO. Mandalorian Actor Pedro Pascal and Game of Thrones Actress Bella Ramsey played the main characters of Joel and Ellie.

In terms of acting prowess, both Pedro and Bella are some of the best performers the industry has had to offer. Though the expectations were really high with the show and its cast, no one was prepared for an absolute masterclass of acting that the lead had portrayed on the screen. The performance was so uncannily similar to the original characters many were left in awe.

On Twitter, a user named Okami Games shared a clip from the series with the caption, “Bella Ramsey sounds EXACTLY like Ellie wtf!!” In the 25-second-long clip, Bella could be seen perfectly encapsulating the young, rebellious nature of Ellie. From her “no f*cks given” attitude to the minute details in her body language, Bella showed why she was the perfect casting for the role.

The fans were also stunned by the performance in the show they express their amazement and showered the performers for such an unreal experience. 

The Last of Us series is available right now on HBO Max. So far, the show has received highly positive reviews all across the board. Many believe this show will be the one to lift the ‘curse’ of video game live-action adaptations.
