Nintendo just released a new trailer full of exciting revelations for the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet fans! Along with confirming the release date, the trailer also showed off new Pokémon species, exciting mechanics, and a correlation to ‘science’. However, two features managed to stand out and lead to a round of exciting anticipation in the fandom.
Pokémon fans are ecstatic about the introduction of a freely roam-able open world and a 4-player co-op mechanic for the first time in the franchise. Previously, a lot of fans complained about how the once-hugely anticipated Pokémon Legends Arceus only featured a semi-open-world.

Although there were five beautifully designed Hisuian regions in Pokémon Legends Arceus, players were mostly stuck with exploring Hisui according to what the campaign dictated. Moreover, none of the Pokémon games were even remotely close to introducing a four-player co-op before Scarlet and Violet. The all-new multiplayer feature of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet may even have a huge impact on the franchise, thankfully, an exciting one.
Co-op mode in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet may allow separate team experiences
According to speculations made by SwitchForce, a renowned informant and creator for Nintendo Switch, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet may feature a server that fuels the multiplayer experience. The trailer showed how the four trainer characters connected as a team at a point in the game. But then, they diverged on separate paths. This may indicate that players will be able to enjoy separate in-game experiences in multiplayer mode.

In a multiplayer co-op mode that provides such flexibility, players may be required to own separate Nintendo Switch consoles. However, The Pokémon Company may have planned for other co-op modes as well that we’ll see at launch perhaps.
New Pokémon and what not!
The Pokémon Company has also introduced a bunch of new Pokémon for the fans to catch and train! Among all, the little pig – Lechonk – seems to have caught a lot of eyes. The starter Pokémon set includes Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly (Is it Donald Duck?)
In addition, the showstoppers – Koraidon (Scarlet) and Miraidon (Violet) – also featured in the trailer. The legendary Pokémon will be available for battle and the trainer’s Pokédex at the end of the campaign!
With the all-new co-op, friends will now be able to connect in-game on a different level. The trailer also showed how the trading, training, teaming and meeting characters in-game will look like. The Pokémon Company has indeed focused a lot on the multiplayer experience this time and this may change the way fans think of the popular franchise!
