

The much-awaited next-gen update for GTA V is finally coming out, after a long wait. Rockstar has announced that players can now upgrade to the next generation consoles, such as Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 from their previous generation PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. This is one of the major updates that Rockstar has brought to this game within the past decade.

However, a piece of disappointing news has surfaced which states that all of the saved data will be wiped out from your previous-gen console when transferring to the next-gen one.
Transferring your character to PS5/Xbox Series X/S will remove all your character data on your PS4/Xbox One.#GTAOnline

Besides this, it is important to note that both Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online need to be bought separately. For PS5, GTA V is available at a cost of $9.99 while GTA Online is free till June 14. However, for Xbox Series X|S, GTA V is available for $19.99 and GTA Online is available for $9.99.
