The much-awaited next-gen update for GTA V is finally coming out, after a long wait. Rockstar has announced that players can now upgrade to the next generation consoles, such as Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 from their previous generation PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. This is one of the major updates that Rockstar has brought to this game within the past decade.
However, a piece of disappointing news has surfaced which states that all of the saved data will be wiped out from your previous-gen console when transferring to the next-gen one.

GTA V next-gen: fans are furious with the bizarre feature that wipes saved data
Fans are very much furious with the fact that their saved data could be wiped out from the consoles due to this new upgrade. They have expressed their disappointment about the same on Twitter. Let’s have a look at what the players have to say.

There are some players out there who are worrying about their character level and progress being lost during the transfer of this next-gen upgrade.

How long do we have until they remove account transferring? I still need to get a PS5 and I don't want my level 650 character and money to go to waste because I didn't transfer it in time.

Besides this, it is important to note that both Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online need to be bought separately. For PS5, GTA V is available at a cost of $9.99 while GTA Online is free till June 14. However, for Xbox Series X|S, GTA V is available for $19.99 and GTA Online is available for $9.99.
