Definitely not what we wanted to hear at this point in time
The God of War series is one of the most popular PlayStation exclusives. Time and again, PlayStation has hosted a State of Play event to make announcements about upcoming titles, whether exclusive or third-party. The event has proven to be an amazing platform for fans to get their latest update on what happening behind the closed doors of PlayStation studios. Similarly, this time around, fans were ecstatic to learn about the latest developments in God of War: Ragnarok. However, things do not always go as planned.

Many have speculated that the event may reveal a new appearance, new gameplay, or possibly a release date for the game during the event. However, the latest rumor suggests that the State of Play is not happening any time soon. In addition, we may not hear anything about the game in the upcoming weeks.
The Long Winter awaits the God of War
In a Reddit post, user u/Crusader3456 has shared an article, which confirms that the Santa Monica Studio will not be showcasing the long-awaited sequel for a while. Although there is no official announcement, ResetEra insider ashhong hints that we shouldn’t expect anything about the game this early. The insider simply replied, “too soon,” in a ResetEra forum about a potential State of Play event centering on the widely hyped game.
Unfortunately, we also have to believe that this is true. Cory Barlog, the director of God of War (2018), claimed in a video posted on the Santa Monica Studio’s social media account that they weren’t ready to show off more of God of War: Ragnarok just yet.
