He mentioned that his company had signed a huge deal with Nintendo for the future. It will see the arrival of more Xbox titles on Nintendo’s consoles, including Call of Duty.

In case anyone missed keeping track of events, Microsoft’s President Brad Smith stunned everyone on Tuesday by sharing a big update. On Twitter, he revealed that his company has entered into a 10-year deal with Japanese giant Nintendo. Here’s what his tweet mentioned:

It implies that Microsoft is very much confident in acquiring Call of Duty publisher Activision Blizzard. Probably that’s why Brad Smith came up with such a tweet while also informing about the ‘binding contract’. Right now, their proposed acquisition of Activision is not yet approved. However, they have now come out and revealed their intentions, while also reiterating that COD will remain on multiple platforms, including PlayStation.
But it looks like most of the gaming lovers didn’t buy the idea of signing a deal with Nintendo for an IP that is still not owned by Microsoft. Most of the people on Twitter hilariously reacted to this announcement. They couldn’t believe that the Xbox maker had signed a binding contract with Nintendo for Call of Duty even though their ambitious deal with Activision was still not fully approved.
