FC Barcelona already has vested interests in eSports and is now planning to venture into the Superliga as well. They will fill the empty slot that was left over after S2V’s departure from the league. FC Barcelona has its teams for a number of eSports titles and this will be the first time that they will venture into Super Liga and League of Legends.

FC Barcelona venture into the Super League and League of Legends

FC Barcelona is willing to strengthen its commitment to eSports as a strategic sector ever since it ventured into the industry two years ago. Their aim is to develop a strong profile in the field of eSports just like they have done in soccer.

According to the club’s official website, the Superliga had been watched by a record-breaking number of people – 5 million. The grand final of the 2021 event was watched by more than 300,000 viewers which smashed the previous record of 73,569 viewers and achieved an AMA (Average Minute Audience) of 43,191; this was a 165% increase from 2020’s Grand Final event.

The club has its eSports teams for Rocket League, eFootball and Hearthstone and has been competing for two years.
