When it comes to sports-related video games EA’s FIFA 23 title is a clear dominant leader. Its whole series has earned loads of love from the fans who have brought every edition of this game. Furthermore, the competitive spirit this game brings out is unparalleled. This is one of the reasons why the esports tournament of this game is filled with emotions and delight.

However, the latest FIFAe World Cup came under the blemish of organizational errors. An error in the final of the tournament caused one of the finalists to lose $150,000 due to the broadcast of a vital strategy. While FIFAe has released a statement that the error did not cause the player to lose, fans are speculating otherwise.

The final of the FIFAe World Cup 2023 was being played between Mark11 and ManuBachoore. They both had a close match and in the end penalty shootout was called to decide a winner. But during the penalty shootout, Mark11 raised a concern to the admins. He notified them three times that his controller was visible on the screen. However, his preparation time ran out and he had to shoot the penalties with his controller visible on screen.

The penalty shootout in FIFA 23 is carried out by the player selecting a position and angle for the dive and shooting. However, if the opponent looks at their controller, they can easily guess where the player is shooting or diving. After the penalty shootout, ManuBachoore led on to become the winner with $300,000 and Mark11 came second with $150,000.

In this regard, FIFAe has released an official statement. They stated that the input overlay of all the participants was visible throughout the stream and in the arena. Furthermore, they said, “After a thorough review of the footage, we can also confirm that no player received a competitive advantage as the opposite team only watched their screen.”

However, the fans of Mark11 believe otherwise and say the player was unable to win $300,000 due to the error. Furthermore, Mark11’s club has also issued a statement condemning FIFA.
