There’s some good news for all the Final Fantasy VII Remake fans who owned this game through the PlayStation Plus service. In the coming few days, they will be able to upgrade this game to the PlayStation 5 version. Since this announcement was made, there have been waves of joy throughout the entire gaming community. Especially for all the fans who bought this game on PS Plus just a few months ago.

In March 2021, PS Plus featured the PS4 version of the game and it disappointed a lot of fans because it lacked all the features of the PS5 version. Also, there was no surety of whether the users will be able to upgrade it to the PS5 version in the future. But now, it seems on track to happen without the users having to pay any extra cost.

This PS5 upgrade is absolutely free of cost and the upgrade option will be enabled from the 22nd of Dec 2021 (Wednesday). The only minor constraint is the fans must have a PlayStation 5 and have purchased this game through the PS Plus service.

The move comes as a pleasant surprise from the developers, Square Enix. Also, prior to this announcement, the devs had released no indication regarding this. On the 20th of Dec 2021, the official Twitter handle of “FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE” made this announcement.

Apart from the PS 5 upgrade feature, the devs also have one more surprise for the fans. They will have the opportunity to own the popular DLC “Episode Intermission” at a 25% discount for a limited time. The Episode Intermission DLC features the all-time favorite “Yuffie Kisaragi” who was first introduced in 1997.

Talking about the PS5 version of the game. It has some exciting features like faster loading times, up to 4k resolution gameplay, a brand new photo mode, enhanced textures, and lighting, and many many more.
