When it comes to the latest report of Final Fantasy 7 Remake coming to Steam, it’s based on a user’s tweet. The user, known as AtelierTool, mentioned that the game contains a hidden SteamAppID in its files, which is required by all the Steam titles.
What’s interesting to note about this information is that this ID was created last year itself, six months after FF7R’s release on PS4.

More details on Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s debut on Steam
One more thing that came to light recently is that some players also noticed that while downloading the game on PC, there was a ‘Steamworks’ folder, among other files. Basically, it means that Final Fantasy 7 Remake may arrive on the Steam platform very soon. It’s also likely to happen because it’ll no longer be an Epic Games Store exclusivity soon.
The PC launch of the Square Enix title has been quite problematic so far. Final Fantasy 7 Remake on the PC version has seen poor reactions from those who played it, even with high specs. Plus, the price of the port in comparison to Square Enix’s other PC titles is also quite high. To be precise, the cost of the ported game is pretty costly compared to some other ports out there, which is unusual to witness for any other game.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake, in its entirety is a well-made and fantastic title. Upon its initial launch last year, it gained a lot of praise from PlayStation 4 users and the critics as well. Then the next-gen upgrade for PlayStation 5 also garnered tons of appreciation, earlier this year. However, the ongoing controversy of its PC release has taken some shine off the otherwise amazing game.
