Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker Director Issues Apology and Reveals a Unique Compensation

Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker expansion is finally releasing on December 7, 2021. And the fourth expansion of the MMORPG is currently in its early access period for pre-order customers. But not everything is going to plan for Square Enix.

The game received a patch focussing on the server issues before the early access period started. However, it seems like there are still problems with the game that force players to wait in prolonged queues. Now, the devs released a statement addressing the issues and have revealed an interesting surprise as compensation for the same.

Following the queue-issue-plagued launch of the PlayStation and PC exclusive online MMORPG titler, the devs have provided some clarity in their latest news wire post where they also talk about the deep-rooted problem that the devs are working on.

Naoki Yoshida, Director and Producer of Final Fantasy XIV, released a heartfelt apology along with an explanation, countermeasures being implemented, and a special surprise as an apology.

Yoshida suggested, “the number of simultaneous logins has reached the hardware limit”. Essentially, increasing the time required to log in and during an increased number of active players. Talking about the problems that caused the login errors, Yoshida listed out the reasons in multifold.

Due to the highly infuriating wait periods in the game, the developers are offering seven days of free game time to players who own the full edition of the game. Interestingly, the same will apply to players who choose to buy the game at the expiration of their 30-day trial period.

Unfortunately, there isn’t much information as to when players can expect the update, and will be announced later. Thankfully, the devs have promised an increase in free game time in the given case.
