Final Fantasy XIV Producer Reveals Massive Plans Post Enthralling Endwalker Saga

Final Fantasy XIV lovers just got a breath of fresh air after producer and director Naoki Yoshida’s New Year announcement. Square Enix, following its long tradition, just revealed a message from him to begin 2022 on a good note. What’s interesting to note in the message was the producer’s hint for a bigger future of Final Fantasy XIV, post the enthralling Endwalker saga.

The highly popular installment at the moment, Final Fantasy XIV released more than a decade ago. However, it has continued to evolve with major expansions, the recent addition being Endwalker. The latter will keep entertaining the players before a newer update takes over in the future. But the fans don’t have to be sad, as the game itself won’t be over in any way possible.

Final Fantasy XIV is here to stay, for a long-long time!

In his New Year message, by Square Enix, producer, and director Naoki Yoshida shared some details on the game’s upcoming journey. Mentioning the Endwalker update, he said that once the expansion ends, Final Fantasy XIV will see a total overhaul.

Yoshida revealed that the game will witness a new story being introduced before the arrival of the next update 6.1. He said that “FFXIV itself is far from over, and we’ve already begun creating new journeys for all you Warriors of Light─or adventurers, rather─to embark upon!”

That’s a big news, especially for those who play Final Fantasy XIV on daily basis. The game has seen an explosion of players since mid-2021. The popularity even led to the title’s victory in last year’s The Game Awards. In case you missed it, FFXIV was the Best Ongoing Game.

Meanwhile, talking about the Endwalker expansion, it’s basically a culmination of everything the team has built so far, revealed Yoshida. It shows lots of aspects since the very beginning of Final Fantasy when it was first released in September 2010.

Final Fantasy XIV is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The upgrade for the latter can be availed free of charge by those who already own the PS4 version.
