Kotaku’s sources have also revealed that this remaster is being developed by Rockstar Dundee, one of Rockstar’s newest studios based in Scotland. This same studio team might also be developing the next-gen version of GTA V as well.

Rockstar has been inconsistent when it came to the development and release of the remastered versions. Partially, this has been because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it is likely that the GTA Definitive Edition Trilogy will be released digitally packaged this year.

The remastered trilogy is planned to be launched around late October or early November for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, PC, Stadia, and mobile phones. That said, there’s also a slim chance that these versions might be released in early 2022 for Android, iOS, and PC as well because Rockstar is currently focussing on ports for consoles.

Sources say that RD-Online is receiving fewer updates, mostly because Rockstar Dundee is currently concentrating on developing these remastered titles right now, and fans will definitely be thrilled to relive their memories of the classic GTA games once again with these Definitive Editions!
