Henry Cavill is arguably one of the most beloved actors of our generation. The Witcher actor’s genuine passion for significant literary works and love for video games have made him an icon of the “nerd” culture. Cavill stole the hearts of the fans with his phenomenal performance as the Geralt of Rivia, from Witcher and also Clark Kent.

Both of these characters are icons of pop culture. In the Dark Fantasy genre, Witcher has unparalleled dominion and in the world of superheroes, very few characters are as influential and popular as the last son of Krypton, Superman. Henry, for many, was the “perfect cast” for both of the characters but, alas, recently the actor has shared very saddening news regarding his future in these roles.

Henry Cavill made his debut as the Kryptonian on the silver screen, with Zack Snyder’s movie, “Man of Steel” in 2013. Although the movie was a hit, grossing over $600 million, it received very mixed reviews. The cold reception was mostly about the portrayal of the character and the direction the plot took. On the other hand, Henry was praised beyond measure for his ground-breaking performance.

The Man of Steel was the first movie of the DCEU. Much like Marvel; DC had planned to make an extended universe with their superheroes. But unfortunately, the following movies of that universe weren’t quite able to stand on their feet. As a result, Warner Bros had to scrap the whole project and build again from the start.

In the new phase of DC, new faces were hired. This time, instead of Zack Snyder, James Gunn was given the reigns of a new universe. James had made some great progress with the DC IPs. His The Suicide Squad movie received a warm reception and was regarded highly as one of the best DCEU movies of all time. This amazing performance by the director had given the fans some hope about the future of DC on the silver screen.

But, many hearts were broken when a new announcement from the director confirmed that Henry will no longer portray the Superhero on the silver screen. James tweeted, “Among those on the slate is Superman. In the initial stages, our story will be focusing on an earlier part of Superman’s life, so the character will not be played by Henry Cavill.”.

With the announcement, it was apparent that the new superman movie will focus on the younger days of Clark Kent. This means the movie would need someone younger than Henry for the role. Henry Cavill also presented his side of the story:-
