A GameStop employee kills a shoplifter to save Pokémon cards

In Florida, the law “stand your ground” offers people to use deadly force but in terms of self-defense. However, people can use such force only if their lives are at stake or there is something gravely serious in the situation. However, Florida GameStop employee Derrick Guerrero didn’t belong to any of these dangers. It is confirmed by the security footage that the shoplifter didn’t carry any gun or weapon. There is also no evidence that he tried to threaten the GameStop employee. However, he was found trying to steal Pokémon cards worth $120 each.

Now the judiciary calls it manslaughter because Guerrero shot and killed the shoplifter in the heat of the moment. The murder was unplanned and sudden. Nevertheless, Guerrero is held by the authorities on $25000 bail.
