Fans mourned the passing of Maya, who has made numerous appearances on PewDiePie’s channel and attributed to his identity. In many instances, Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg aka Pewds has stated that Maya played a significant role in his life. She helped him get closer to his girlfriend (now wife) Marzia and a lot more.

PewDiePie Introduces Momo
Maya was suffering from canine dementia. Her conditions had affected her sleep and metabolism. She lived for more than 17 years, which is way more than the average lifespan for a pug (12-15 years). On December 18, PewDiePie shared a post on his Instagram, saying, “17 years is a long time for a pug, but no time in the world would’ve ever been enough..”

Even with all her issues, Felix had promised to not give up. He did everything in his power to keep her as healthy as possible. When moving to his current residence in Japan, Felix booked a private jet, just so Maya doesn’t feel claustrophobic during the travel. But not even he can keep the inevitable at bay, forever.

New beginnings are the only way to cope with farewells, and the YouTuber is on the right path. In his latest video (which was recorded back in November when Maya was still alive), Felix shared a big announcement. The video was named, “Lot of big changes lately” and it was one of the new J-Vlogs.

In the video, he showed his new dog, Momo. Momo is a female Chug. Chugs are a cross between Pugs and Chihuahuas. Momo has the same fur color as Maya and it can be expected that she will be the biggest help to Felix in healing the chasm that was left in his heart after he said farewell to his beloved.
