Epic Games has been extremely active when it comes to shuffling around weapons in Fortnite. This is often caused because of a change in the theme of the game due to a new season or when existing weapons become stale. Over the last two chapters of Fortnite, we have seen all kinds of weapons. From guns that fire alien lasers to pre-historic weapons. Here, we will be analyzing the most capable long-range weapons that have been introduced into the battle royale.

Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle: The original long-range weapon in Fortnite

A throwback to the original, the bolt-action sniper rifle was the first sniper to be introduced into Fortnite. The gun features a highly zoomed scope which makes it ideal to weaken players from afar. Its bolt-action system means that you will have to cock the gun back after every shot. Although it is one of the more powerful weapons, it will usually require two or more shots to eliminate a fully shielded opponent.

Heavy Sniper

In many ways, the heavy sniper is the successor to the bolt-action sniper. Once you have mastered the weapon sway and bullet drop of the bolt-action sniper, you will be lethal with the heavy sniper in your hands. The gun has one of the most satisfying bullet release sounds in the game. Furthermore, if you land a headshot upon an opponent, there is a good chance that they will be completely eliminated.

Rail Gun

A new weapon introduced during Chapter 2 Season 7 of the game, the Rail Gun puts an alien spin on typical long-range weapons. The rail gun must be charged up before firing it. Based on which variant of the gun you pick up, it can deal anywhere from 85 to 94 damage to opponents per shot. Furthermore, it does 500-550 damage to structures and can also pierce through a single structure without losing damage.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6’s Bows

The bows were a major part of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6. As Epic Games reverted the battle royale to a pre-historic setting, players had to gather materials in order to craft more powerful weapons. Using this mechanic, players could craft multiple variations of the bow including a flame bow, explosive bow, and shockwave bow.

Hunting Rifle

When it comes to nostalgic long-range weapons in Fortnite, none can beat the hunting rifle. We have all come across clips of streamers like Ninja and Tfue hitting insane trick shots with the gun. Moreover, it is one of the few long-range weapons without a scope. Thus, you will have a better view of your surroundings but a harder time aiming accurately at opponents.

These are some of our favorite weapons over the seasons in Fortnite. Which of the aforementioned guns in your favorite to use? Let us know in the comments down below.
