Fortnite Season 7 has been a wild ride for players. From alien invasion to Ariana Grande, loopers have witnessed all sorts of things. With only a few days left for Fortnite Season 8, Epic wants to conclude the season on a grand note.

Leakers had previously pointed towards a new Fortnite live event, and today some new developments have surfaced. This live event named “Operation: Sky Fire” will be Fortnite lore-related and might even bring substantial changes to the Island. And additionally, Dr. Slone might have a plan to stop the invasion.

The Operation: Sky Fire Live event finally has a time and a date. Pretty recently, iFireMonkey, a prominent Fortnite leaker took to Twitter to announce the same. Check out his tweet.

As per the leaker, the Fortnite live event is scheduled for September 12 at 4 PM Eastern Time / 1:00 PM Pacific Time / 1:30 AM September 13 IST. The tweet also mentions that the IO Bases are all positioned and that Dr. Slone has a plan to end the invasion for good. The tweet also has a picture of the IO leader staring at the holographic image of the Mothership.

In terms of what can be expected from the live event, it seems like Epic is weighing down on the story aspect, and players might witness the destruction of the Mothership. Dr. Slone desires to blow up the Mothership from the inside (she already has placed bombs with the abducted portions of Corny Complex).

However, blowing up the Mothership will cause debris to fall onto Island. This probably might create “some problems.” We are still left with a variety of questions. If the Mothership smashes into Fortnite Island, does this mean an entirely different map in Fortnite Season 8? Will the IO be successful? What are these new weapons that Dr. Slone is pointing at?

All of this and more will be answered in the upcoming live event, and Epic might surprise players with something entirely new.
