Fortnite Fans Lash Out as Epic Games Significantly Limits Thor’s Stormbreaker Abilities

Fortnite just received a brand new collaboration that brought four new character skins to the game. With Thor: Love and Thunder’s release just around the corner, Epic Games wasn’t going to miss out on the celebration.
Epic announced an exciting mixture with Thor, the God of Thunder, today. According to their tweet, the ‘Gods of Thunder’ pack will be available to buy from the Shop. However, there are a few limitations to using some of the items in the pack.

As Thor: Love and Thunder officially releases on July 8, fans are pumped up to watch Thor take on Gorr, the God Butcher, as he interrupts his journey to peace. And now, fans can become the God of Thunder himself in their favorite game too!
Fortnite: What comes in the Gods of Thunder pack?
According to the announcement from Epic Games, Gods of Thunder will include Thor Odinson and his old love, Jane Foster, who has now become the Mighty Thor. Alongside the two character skins, the pack will also include two Pickaxes, two Gliders, two Back Blings, a special emote, and a loading screen.

However, a saying from the popular lore will hold true in the world of Fortnite as well. As far as the pickaxes are concerned, only certain characters in the game will be able to yield them. Players will have to equip an eligible skin to use the Reformed Mjolnir Pickaxe and the Stormbreaker Pickaxe.
After all, “Whosoever holds this hammer, if they be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.”
The limitations to using Stormbreaker and Mjolnir pickaxes
According to Shiina, a notable Fortnite informant, players will only be able to use the pickaxes with the following characters:
- Thor Odinson
- Mighty Thor
- Captain America (2020)
- Thor (2020)
However, this limitation and the Thor skin seem to have made many fans unhappy.

As it happens, fans wanted to be able to use the Stormbreaker and Reformed Mjolnir with any character they want. But, Fortnite needs you to be worthy!

Although Stormbreaker doesn’t have the famous Mjolnir curse laced on it, only those carrying enough mental and physical strength like Thor can yield it.
No it isn’t. Stormbreaker can be wielded by anyone. Groot picks it up in Infinity War, and Thanos in Endgame but neither character can wield it in-game. I understand Mjolnir can’t be wielded by others, but Stormbreaker should be able to.

On the other hand, Epic Games focusing on another Thor skin annoyed some fans.
Why another Thor though. Yes it's cool but Like come epic, stop doing a reskins and do something new! Pick a different character at least. Last thing I'm gonna do is buy another skin that I already own and don't wear hahaha
