Sunday was a day full of surprises for Formula One fans as they tuned in to watch the world championship title decider race, Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton with equal points before the nail-biting race unfolded. And Forza Horizon 5 fans were definitely glued to the screens.

But it wasn’t meant to be Hamilton’s day as Max Verstappen beat the seven-time world champion, claiming his first-ever Formula One World Drivers’ Championship. Now, as a token of appreciation for Verstappen’s unbelievable achievement, a Forza Horizon 5 player/fan has designed a Red Bull and Verstappen-themed car, congratulating the Dutch driver.

Late Drama in F1 saw Max Verstappen rise to the occasion

Lewis Hamilton, one of the greatest drivers to ever grace the sport, held a comfortable lead for most parts of the race. Despite Verstappen securing the pole position. However, the situation turned quickly in the Dutch driver’s favor after lap 53. Especially, the mix-up between Williams’ Nicholas Latifi and Haas’ Mick Schumacher, which saw the former bow out of the race.

And that is when Verstappen caught up to Hamilton’s car, who initially had a 12s advantage. After the Latifi incident, courtesy of a Virtual Safety Car, Max was neck-to-neck with Hamilton; ultimately overtaking him with just seconds left.

This cliff-hanging race certainly deserved a Forza Horizon 5 honor. And the player has definitely done justice to the Red Bull and their generational star, Max Verstappen.
