Fresh Update Looks Likely to Upset Nintendo Fans Hoping For a New Console in 2022

Several speculations and conclusions later, a new leak has surfaced, which is enough to majorly disappoint Nintendo fans. As it happens, fans will not be getting their hands on a new Nintendo console anytime soon. In fact, the report suggests a very blank fiscal year for those looking forward to Nintendo’s next hardware model!
Nintendo informants from all corners subject fans to a ton of speculations, leading to major confusion. Such speculations have been the source of major disappointments. However, fans cannot help but believe such leaks at times, especially when Nintendo refuses to open up about its hardware situation.

Nintendo Switch is the latest Nintendo console, released back in 2017. Although its portability and exclusive collection of games make it a force to be reckoned with, Switch still remains quite outdated in terms of hardware. In fact, most fans face trouble running modern games at more than 30 frames per second.
It’s been five years since Nintendo released Switch’s first model. Following the same, the company continued to release slightly different versions of the console. For instance, Nintendo will be releasing a Splatoon 3-themed Nintendo OLED console at the end of August. As fans can decipher, Nintendo’s plans never seem to be for a major hardware upgrade.
Fresh leak hints at no new Nintendo console this fiscal year
As some leaks from last month pointed out, Nintendo was supposedly planning a new console reveal soon. In fact, the speculation had caused massive excitement among fans. However, a fresh report from a popular Japanese news source claims otherwise.
New Leak Suggests Special Edition Switch Console Isn’t the Only Thing Nintendo Has in Mind For 2022
As Takashi Mochizuki, a reporter, pointed out, a notable Chinese news publication wrote that Nintendo has no plans to release a new console this year. “There will be no new Nintendo hardware this fiscal year, which ends in March 2023.” Mochizuki tweeted.

However, Mochizuki mentions that he isn’t sure whether it was Nikkei’s individual report or something he caught in the interview with Nintendo’s president.
If the report is true, fans will have to wait for March 2023. In fact, there’s no knowing whether Nintendo will release a new console next fiscal year. As of now, fans can grab a Splatoon 3 Nintendo Switch instead!
