Call of Duty Warzone 2 is without a doubt one of the most anticipated Battle Royale titles as of now. With reports suggesting the delay of the 2023 Call of Duty mainline game, fans expect Infinity Ward and Activision to release Warzone 2 by early next year. Moreover, a notable leaker of COD has already given out the Warzone 2 map.

The map leak has attracted several fan opinions, and a highly detailed map recreation. A talented digital artist presented his idea of the leaked map on Twitter, which reportedly went viral.

Earlier this year, Infinity Ward had announced the ongoing development of a ‘new Warzone experience’. The announcement also included the mention of the much-anticipated sequel to Modern Warfare (2019).

Warzone 2 may take the place of Call of Duty 2023

According to a Bloomberg report, the officials at Activision have delayed the release of an upcoming Call of Duty title that was scheduled to release in 2023 as a part of the annual trend. This decision to postpone the title reportedly comes after Activision failed to tidy things up with Vanguard’s sales.

In fact, Warzone 2’s release is probably going to be compensation for the missing mainline title next year.

Returning to the topic of Warzone 2’s map leak, the highly detailed version has reportedly attracted varying reactions. While some fans were just happy to be able to know what the map may look like, others started a series of comments regarding how ‘empty’ the map looks.

The highly detailed version of the leaked map (via @emadalden_) looks great, considering what we got as a leak from the notable insider, Tom Henderson, which was just a blueprint. It is also important to note that the highly detailed map is actually just an idea, inspired by the first drawing leak. This, in no way, represents the final version of the Warzone 2 map.

Either way, fans have expressed varying opinions about EmadAlden’s representation. While some expressed disappointment about the map looking extremely scarce, others applauded the artist’s skill and imagination.

In other news, or rather, ‘leaks’, Tom Henderson has also claimed that the developers are introducing a swimming mechanic in Warzone 2. It’s interesting as players will now be able to flank through a new geographical feature.

Henderson also stated that Warzone 2’s map will probably turn out to be bigger than Verdansk and Caldera. And if the DMZ mode leaks regarding Modern Warfare 2 prove to be true, Henderson states that Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 may also share the same map to some extent.

As of now, we only hope the map includes more elements outside of the Points of Interest (POIs). Tom Henderson is reportedly a trustable source for industry leaks and boasts of a list of accurate reveals. Even then, fans shouldn’t take unofficial leaks seriously to avoid disappointment.
