As streaming is becoming more of a mainline entertainment, the number of streamers is increasing. Currently, there are thousands of people who Livestream on YouTube and Twitch. But among that huge crowd, only a handful make it to the top. But there is something that every streamer fears, and it doesn’t matter if they are famous or not.

That is none other than stream bans. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that stream bans are the kryptonite for streamers. Even in 2022, many streamers fell victim to stream bans on their respective platforms. Some of them were temporary, while some were permanent. Let’s take a look at the top five stream bans that were the most talked about in 2022.

JiDion gets banned for asking his fans to harras Pokimane

JiDion is now a content creator on YouTube, but he started his journey as a Twitch streamer. In January 2022, the American was permanently shown the exit door from the Amazon-owned platform for going against Twitch’s terms and policies.

During a stream early this year, JiDion asked his fans to go over Pokimane’slivestream and spam her chat with harassing comments. It was one of the crazy and foolish stunts that Jidion pulled. But Twitch didn’t appreciate it much and gave him a two-week-long ban which was later changed to a permanent one.

JiDion and Pokimane later sorted it out and even collaborated. But the purple platform doesn’t care to unban the American streamer.

Twitch bans kimmikka for being too romantic

On August 24, the amazon-owned live-streaming platform banned kimmikka for being too romantic with her partner on the stream. Over the years, streamers have been banned for various reasons but Twitch temporarily suspended this streamer for fornicating with her partner on stream.

The clip of her engaging in this act on stream spread like wildfire on the internet. Twitch later lifted the ban, and Kimmikka also explained that getting too drunk on stream led to that act. She is still live-streaming on the purple platform after the ban and has over 25,500 followers.

Greekgodx gets banned for ‘racist’ gestures

Twitch never appreciated racism on the platform. In July 2022, the purple live-streaming platform temporarily banned the controversial streamer called Greekgodx for making racist gestures to an Asian group during an IRL stream.

Although it wasn’t the first ban for the Twitch streamer, he was banned a month before this as well. Greekgodx claimed that he didn’t make any racist gestures but autistic noises which the audience misinterpreted. Further, the streamer claimed the family was Greek and not Asian. Twitch lifted the ban after keeping it for a few weeks.

Destiny gets banned for ‘unknown’ reasons

Destiny is another famous name in the streaming community and is famous for his political commentary. The streamer had been suspended on Twitch several times for his controversial statements. In March 2022, Twitch showed him the exit door but with no permit to return.

So, the 34-year-old later transitioned to YouTube for continuing the streams. But in one of the YouTube streams, Destiny revealed he still doesn’t know the reason for his permanent suspension. Twitch banning Destiny for an unknown reason is still a huge mystery for the streaming community.

Twitch streamer TrueGeordie banned for his controversial statement

As we once said, Twitch isn’t a huge fan of humor that involves racism and description. They don’t think much to punish a streamer for breaking this important rule. Last month, UK-based Podcaster and streamer TrueGeordie, received a week-long suspension from Twitch.

In one live stream, TrueGeordie talked about the controversial ex-kickboxer Andrew Tate converting into a Muslim. Eventually, he said some questionable statements about Tate and his new faith, leading to his ban on Twitch.

These were only some of the most prominent and talked about stream bans. But there were a lot more bans than these, like Twitch temporarily suspending Adin Ross when he fell victim to fake swatting. Maybe next year too we will witness streamers getting banned for various reasons.
