Fans have been waiting over a decade for the release of a new title; thus, Mortal Kombat 1 is destined to take over the internet after its release. Furthermore, with only a few months away from the release, fans are dying to know everything about the immense hype for MK 1.

• Release Date and Platforms

Mortal Kombat 1 is set to launch on September 18, 2023, and early access will start from September 14, if players have already placed the pre-order for the game. It will be available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S; unfortunately, the PS4 and Xbox One versions won’t be developed. Interestingly, the upcoming Mortal Kombat title will also be available on Nintendo Switch shortly after its release.

• Storyline

It will continue the left-behind story from Mortal Kombat 11 and its aftermath’s expansion. Furthermore, it will feature the newly empowered Liu Kang and the Hourglass mechanism left behind by Kronika.

Interestingly, this timeline is termed as New Era ruled by Kang and a few familiar faces. Not to forget, classic foes such as Shang Tsung will also be making their return as displayed in the trailer.

Surprisingly, it will feature a new fighting system, game modes, bone-crushing finishing moves, and more. Last but not least, developers will introduce a new feature called Kameo Fighters. Kameo Fighters are a unique selection of partners who’ll assist you during matches and are chosen separately from the main roster of fighters.

So far, developers haven’t revealed any breaking news will announcing the fighters for Mortal Kombat. However, NetherRealm has confirmed that the roster will consist of iconic characters from early Mortal Kombat games. The roaster consists of:

Although developers haven’t spilled any tea on the games’ progress, it will announce the upcoming fighters before the official launch. The basic edition of Mortal Kombat 1 will be priced at $70 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch. However, the Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition will cost $110; whereas, the Kollector’s Edition will be $250.
