YouTuber points out the rich history of Nintendo

In a recent YouTube short, a YouTuber disclosed the first-ever products built by many different companies. He pointed out the first products of old companies like Colgate and Nokia. However, the first product of Nintendo and its user base was a surprising one. He revealed the Japanese company started as a card game manufacturer. Furthermore, the people buying those card games from Nintendo were mostly related to organized crime gangs.

This piece of information may come as a shock to many fans, but it is as true as it is shocking. In 1889, Fusajiro Yamauchi started his company Nintendo Koppai to make Hanafuda cards. The cards made by Yamauchi quickly became a hit in Japan. From ordinary citizens to Yakuza were fans of these cards, all thanks to their universal appeal. This quick popularity also helped Nintendo tap into the Western markets.

In the ’60s, Nintendo started expanding into new ventures. Among these new ventures was the one which made Nintendo the gaming industry giant.
