Following the success of Elden Ring, which sold over 20 million copies in a single year, FromSoftware has embarked on a hiring spree for several new projects at the studio. From recent sources, it is known that Sony owns a 14% stake in FromSoftware. Sony and FromSoftware have already worked together on exclusive titles in the past, such as Demon’s Souls and Bloodborne.

While Demon’s Souls was developed by FromSoftware, Sony had a big role in making the game possible. Sony’s Takeshi Kajii also co-produced the game along with FromSoftware’s Masanori Takeuchi. Bloodborne, on the other didn’t have a Sony member closely working on the project but always had Sony’s back when it came to publishing the game under Sony Computer Entertainment.
