Elden Ring is a game that everyone knows about by now. This game has expanded FromSoftware’s fanbase tenfold. And this has led to people looking forward to pretty much every game developed by this Japanese developer.
The biggest indication of this increased fanbase is the interest in their new and upcoming title, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. The reason this game is getting such attention is because it is completely different from that of Elden Ring. And when there’s a tremendous shift in style, it is sure to garner attention from the fans.
However, all this attention has made them even more ambitious, and they have decided to expand, and this has affected Elden Ring IP in a curious manner.

FromSoftware has long-term plans for the Elden Ring franchise
FromSoftware has been on the radar of some really dedicated gamers for a very long time now. They have made a name for themselves by developing some really exciting titles, such as Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro.

Those games never failed to surprise their fans, nor did they fail to earn a bunch of critical praise. But this has changed with Elden Ring. One can say this became their first-ever blockbuster title. It’s not as if their previous titles never sold, but Elden Ring is considered their biggest game in every way.
It won numerous GOTY awards and left critically acclaimed titles such as The Last of Us Part 2 behind. And this was not a small feat either.

To produce bigger, more immersive titles, they have decided to expand their staff. Not to say it’s a bad decision; it’s just that fans awaiting the launch of this DLC would have to wait. But the reason for this DLC’s delay is something really exciting.
Their official document states, “We are now developing DLC that will contribute to the enhancement of the Elden Ring franchise. We are pursuing the maximization of profit by prolonging the life of IP.”
This simply means they are now expanding the scope of this DLC, which would expand and improve the base game in several ways. And it looks like they might even be planning a sequel to this game.
