Frustrating Overwatch 2 Size Proves It’s Too Big to Shrink Inside A Nintendo Switch, Players Reveal

Blizzard Entrainment‘s free-to-play hero shooter game, Overwatch 2 couldn’t impress the fans much. with over 25000 negative reviews to fundamental glitches, this sequel of 2016’s Overwatch appeared a flop in the market. Now fans are calling this game insanely big, even bigger than the storage space of the console devices. 

Although Blizzard Entertainment provided early access to the game back in 2022, the full version was released on Switch, Windows, Xbox Series X/S, One, PlayStation 4 and 5 in 2023. Overwatch 2 offered player versus player modes with a multiplayer platform for gamers.

It’s been just three days since Overwatch 2 fully released on Steam and the game already received over 25000 negative reviews from the fans at the time of writing this article. Amid these negative reviews, only 14% seemed to like the game, which is quite low for a company like Blizzard Entertainment. Fans complained about the game’s weak take on hero missions, bad free-to-play structure and many more. Now one Switch user brought the attention of the community by sharing his experience of Overwatch 2 on Nintendo’s Switch. On his Reddit profile, this person shared a post saying- “Overwatch 2 on the Switch is bigger than the Switch’s hard drive.”

He further explained that he primarily couldn’t play the game, as it wasn’t updated. Later, when he tried to update his version, Switch couldn’t permit it due to the inability of storage spaces. Although he tried deleting other files, it couldn’t work. This is when he realized that Overwatch 2’s size is so big that even after cleaning the entire Switch storage, the game won’t play unless people use an SD card. However, this situation has left people spellbound thinking is the game stupidly bigger or Nintendo’s Switch really has an insufficient device to play modern games-“Is Overwatch 2 a stupidly advanced and large game or is the Switch’s hard drive just really insufficient?”

People were completely surprised to see how developers can make a game and release it on devices with lesser storage space than the game- “ I’ve never heard of a game being bigger than a console’s hard drive before. It’s insane.”
