Gamers Rejoice as Ubisoft Offers Far Cry 5 for Free

As Far Cry 6 comes out later this year, Ubisoft is being generous. Offering players a chance to play the last entry in the series, Far Cry 5 for free over the weekend.

The free weekend begins on August 5 and will continue till August 9, 2021. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC via the Epic Game Store and Ubisoft Store, and Stadia. Along with the free weekend, Far Cry 5 will also be on sale with significant discounts.

Ubisoft announced the free weekend on their website and via an official press release. Apart from this, the company also announced an additional discount for players who wanted to play the game longer with up to 85% off.

They later unveiled the price breakdown of the game for each platform for the standard and gold edition. Ubisoft will also cut down on the prices of the Season Pass. Here is the list for each version of the sale:

The storyline and what the game offers

The game was originally released in 2018 and is the 12th addition to one of the most popular franchises amongst FPS lovers. It was developed by Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Toronto and published by Ubisoft.

In this First-Person Shooter game, you are placed in a rural American County named Hope. You take on the role of a Sheriff and fight against a doomsday cult, saving people. Along the way, you learn to make new friends and hire people and take on cultists with a large arsenal of weapons. You get to choose between running in the open world alone or co-op with your friends and exploding things.

If you ever feel like taking a break, the game has leisure activities on the side such as hunting, fishing, wingsuit, and crafting.

This offer comes ahead of the official release of Far Cry 6 that rumored to be coming out before the holidays on October 7th. The sixth addition to the major series will be launched on all platforms.
