Genshin Impact, The Legend of Zelda are the most talked-about games on Twitter in 2022 so far as Minecraft misses out

Action role-playing title Genshin Impact was first launched two years ago by miHoYo. It features an anime-style open-world setting and a battle system comprising elemental magic plus character switching. Earlier this year in May, it was revealed that the gacha system in this RPG has helped it to make nearly $1 billion every six months.

It seems like miHoYo’s game is not only making huge money but also ruling social media as well. Rishi Chadha, who’s the Global Head of Creator & Gaming Content Partnerships on Twitter, recently shared some mind-boggling facts. While writing about gaming, he mentioned that there have been over 1.5 billion tweets on video games in 2022 on the social media platform.

Furthermore, he also revealed that Genshin Impact, alongside Nintendo’s Zelda, is among the top 10 most talked-about games this year. In fact, miHoYo’s anime RPG has ranked first on this list.

Surprisingly, though, Mojang’s top trending 3D sandbox Minecraft is nowhere to be seen this time. It failed to compete with the likes of Wordle, Final Fantasy, Apex Legends, and Zelda of course. This is quite a shock for many as Minecraft usually remains on the trending list on Twitter almost every day.

All things considered, the makers of Genshin Impact must be feeling really proud at the moment as their game is witnessing unprecedented popularity. Fans are just mad about it and it’s now been proven as well.

The game is now available for platforms like iOS, Android, PC, and PlayStation 5.
