Doug Cockle, widely known for voice-acting Geralt in the Witcher trilogy, has revealed some personal information. On June 6th, he took to Twitter he revealed that he had been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer during his regular medical checkup. With the reveal of his diagnosis, the Witcher community has been pouring in support for the voice actor. This is happening in the midst of CD: PR getting ready to expand the Witcher series.

CD Projekt is gearing towards the launch of a new title in their magnum opus series, The Witcher. They are steadily working on the latest entry of the series and fans are hoping it will retain all the glory of its previous entry. The last trilogy of The Witcher had everything a player wanted from an RPG game. Its gameplay, soundtrack, and voice acting were top tier according to fans.

The Witcher voice actor gets diagnosed with Cancer

In a recent tweet by Doug Cockle, he opened up about his prostate cancer diagnosis. He revealed this was a sudden discovery. He tweeted, “I had no idea. Random check and Boom… I have full-blown prostate cancer”. However, he also noted his treatment is going well right now. Though he urged men over the age of 50 should get a PSA test, just in case. He retweeted Prostate Cancer UK to share more information with fans about it.

When Cockle put out this revelation on Twitter, fans of The Witcher series have been coming in support of the voice actor since then. The official game account for The Witcher also tweeted out in support of the actor. They tweeted, “Sending our best wishes! We know you can beat this, witcher!”
