Ever since the announcement, fans have been extremely excited to see Breaking Bad star, Giancarlo Esposito, in Far Cry 6. At today’s Summer Games Fest, he spoke about his character in Far Cry 6. Esposito is portraying the character of a dictator of Yaran, Anton Castillo.

Esposito had some interesting things to say during the Summer Games Fest

According to Giancarlo Esposito, his character is not a bad guy, but is a man with political underpinning. “I’m not a villain … This guy loves his country. He wants to empower you, Keighley, he wants to empower you to stand up and speak your truth,” he stated talking about his character in Far Cry 6.

He also said that the Yaran dictator, Anton Castillo, is a man who loves his country and also his people.

Further talking about why he chose this role, he added, “It really appealed to me, because he’s a guy who first came from a love of his family and a love of his community and country, and it was so in line with what’s going on in the world politically today, and what has happened in the past.”

Just like the other developing team of Far Cry 6, Esposito has got his character’s inspiration from the Cuban ruler, Fidel Castro. Esposito definitely seems a perfect man to play the character of Castillo, as he is actually backing up the role.

Esposito was also seen referring to Nicolae Ceausescu and Adolf Hitler, saying, “the mindset that has you wanting to have power over others. For each dictator, it’s different.”

Esposito doubtlessly has got the guts to pull off this role perfectly. But the big question is whether Ubisoft’s writers will give his character enough space, and enable him to make it to happen.

It will be interesting to see the true nature of his character. Gamers can’t wait to see his actual intentions- whether he really has a political aspect or his intentions are simply villainous.
