PlayStation trying to recreate the success of The Last of Us

Asad Qizilbash from PlayStation Productions recently talked about the new live-action adaptations being created. Currently, God of War and Horizon are slated to get TV shows of their own. PlayStation Productions is producing God of War and Horizon jointly with Amazon and Netflix respectively.

While two major media companies are in play, Qizilbash said the formula for both will be similar to The Last of Us. “The same care and formula that we did with The Last of Us, we’re going to be applying for Horizon [and] God of War,” said Qizilbash.

He also stated that both titles will have some plot flexibility. The shows’ core will remain loyal to their games, but they will also explore new narratives. Creating these previously unseen narratives in the shows provides the fans of the games with a reason to watch the programs as well. Also, this gives non-gaming fans watching the shows for the first time, a chance to explore fresh stories in the games.
