The Rock seems to know how iconic and successful the reveal was. The impact the original Xbox made on the industry is astronomical. Before the reveal, Microsoft was not known for a lot of things. After its release, the Xbox did extremely well. It had a huge impact and could reach even the younger audiences. Its exclusive, Halo: Combat Evolved only heralded the console’s success. The Rock delivered amazingly with what he said. “The Xbox is everything The Rock is. Cutting-edge, powerful, exhilarating, and like The Rock, it will be the most electrifying thing coming out this year. What The Rock is to sports entertainment to the WWF, the Xbox will be to the video game industry: a breakthrough and certainly an original. The Rock doesn’t impress easily–you know that, Bill. But I’m pretty damn impressed with what we’re seeing here today.”
The movie star has definitely made a huge impact on the gaming industry, even recently featuring in the Fortnite. “Coolest cats,” however, might be a bit of a stretch.
