“Got to rewind time” Says Voice Actor Reprising Prince of Persia Role

The iconic Ubisoft title Prince of Persia remake is in the works. However, Ubisoft has said that the game might have to be delayed. In other news, the voice actor behind the protagonist of the game gave his opinion on literally ‘rewinding time’ to reprise the role.

Yuri Lowenthal, who was the voice behind the prince in the original game will reprise the role yet again. He is also the voice behind a long list of characters such as Insomniac’s Spiderman and Yusuke Hanumura in Persona 4. He has voiced characters in plenty of other games as well.

Even though he has voiced iconic and loved characters, he comes from a humble beginning where he was the voice of the prince in Prince of Persia. He told USA Today that “it was one of the greatest honors” to finally return to his role which in a way, launched him to success. Things seem to have come in full circle with Yuri.

He added, “When we did the first The Sands of Time, I may have done three to five recording sessions for the whole game, and that was my contribution.” He also said that he felt that he had rewound time. Finally, he said that there weren’t enough good things he could say about the experience.

The original game voice lines were recorded in a single booth. However, now that they are working with a bigger budget for the remake, a wider cast has been used.

The official Twitter Handle of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was recently reactivated, and there was a tweet. The tweet consisted of a message from the development team. The message said that the development team was motivated and inspired by the feedback received. They reassured fans and said that development is underway with the fan-favorite remake releasing sometime in 2022.
