GOTY Contender God of War Ragnarok Proves Its Dominance Ahead of The Game Awards 2022

Ever since its worldwide debut earlier this month, the PlayStation 5 juggernaut God of War Ragnarok has continued to impress everyone. So much so that now it has won a major award as well, just a month before the awaited Game Awards 2022 event.

Going by the latest reports, God of War Ragnarok recently clinched its first Game of the Year title during the Titanium Awards event of the BIG Conference. With that, the PS5 exclusive seems to have gained huge momentum against its rivals, especially FromSoftware’s Elden Ring.

From the time when it was first announced till the day it launched, Ragnarok kept all the fans curious. They were eager to witness the new adventures of Kratos and Atreus going forward after the ending of the first installment in 2018.

As soon as God of War Ragnarok made its arrival more than a week ago, it was bound to bring a tsunami of endless praises from all directions. While the critics called it a masterpiece sequel, die-hard fans have fallen in love with the PlayStation 5 exclusive. Everyone is just loving this game, to say the least.

And now, God of War Ragnarok has even won a major award for its mesmerizing gameplay experience. As reported by industry insider Hunter, on Twitter, the PS5 blockbuster clinched the Game of the Year title during the Titanium Awards event of the BIG Conference. The indie event was previously known by the name of Fun & Serious.

Moreover, Ragnarok won a total of two Titanium awards. It also won in the Best Narrative Design category. God of War beat other strong contenders like Elden Ring and A Plague Tale: Requiem to finally take home the GOTY title.

Speaking of FromSoftware’s fantasy RPG Elden Ring, then it succeeded in winning the award for Best Game Design. On the other hand, A Plague Tale: Requiem won the award for Best Sound Direction. It will be interesting to see who will eventually win at the upcoming The Game Awards show next month.
