But the question that every fan had in mind is when the next GTA title is coming. The Rockstar Games answered that question with a blog earlier this year that mentioned them working on a new game. Many rumors also revealed that the new game they are working on is the GTA 6.

How is the game engine for GTA 6 better than Unreal Engine 5?

Most of the latest games are developed on Unreal Engine 5. This game development engine is famous for developing games with higher texture, game mechanics, and advanced visuals. Therefore, many game developers have switched to Unreal Engine 5, like CD Projekt RED is using this engine for the next Witcher game and BioWare for the next Mass Effect game.

However, Rockstar Games isn’t relying on the Unreal Engine. Instead, they decided to use their latest in-house game development engine, Rockstar Advanced Game Engine 9 (RAGE 9). The American company has had this game engine since 2006 and used it for developing the last two GTA games.

Recently, Rockstar used the RAGE for developing the 2018 game Red Dead Redemption 2. It would not be wrong to believe that Rockstar Games wouldn’t use it for developing their upcoming GTA game. Moreover, the American game company believes their RAGE 9 can compete with the UE5.

What will RAGE offer in developing the Grand Theft Auto 6?

After the colossal success of the GTA V, Rockstar Games would want their new game to replicate or even exceed the success of the last game. So, the developers have revealed what the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine 9 would offer in developing the GTA 6.

The latest RAGE would allow them to develop 16K textures. Moreover, the latest Rockstar engine would help design a tremendous environmental effect like the winds can affect the vehicle. Furthermore, Rockstar is planning to introduce an NPC interaction similar to Red Dead Redemption 2.
