

In the gaming industry, one of the most prominent and renowned mo-cap actors, Troy Baker, has made his appearance in the latest episode of The Last of Us. The original cast of Joel in the games, Troy Baker, was very enthusiastic to take a part in the show. He was certain he wouldn’t get the main role again.

But in a recent interview, he shared he would have been happy by literally having any role in the show, even a Clicker. HBO Max’s the Last of Us, based on Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed gaming series, features a lot of the original cast from the game. Other than Baker, Ashley Johnson, and Jeffrey Pierce could be seen having significant roles in the show.

However, troy wasn’t so sure about that, but getting the script was “kind of a surprise” to him. In an interview with IGN, Troy shared, “If there was a role for me to play in the show, then great, but it wasn’t definite.” However, he was very excited about the show and wanted to play some part in it like his colleague Jeffrey Pierce.

According to Troy, he was happy playing any character in the show, even as one of the undead antagonists such as the Clickers. “It wasn’t something that was guaranteed and it wasn’t something that I was even necessarily seeking. It was just like, ‘If you guys feel that you have a spot for me, then I’d happily do it.’ I would be happy if I’d just been a clicker.”
In the end, Baker landed the role of James, who was a member of one of the Survivor groups that Joel and Ellie meet in their journey. There have been some rumors that suggest Baker was supposed to play David, a role that eventually went to Scott Shepherd.
