Technology has come a long way in the last 20 years. GTA San Andreas used to be the top game out there back in 2004 and since then, the technological boom began. While GTA San Andreas was one of the heavier games back in the day, now the whole game can be played on an average smartphone. But, wait! There is more to it!

While players wait for GTA 6, everyone is trying to figure out how to fill the void that’s been there since the story of GTA 5 ended. One gamer uploaded a clip on X ( formerly Twitter ) of them playing GTA San Andreas on a smartwatch.

With the advances in technology, it is now possible to make powerful hardware in a much smaller size. The smartphone gaming trend has pushed many companies to offer competitive hardware for their high-end phones. Some phones nowadays are much more powerful than some older PCs and there is no stopping them. While gaming on smartphones is the new norm, playing games on smartwatches makes things a whole new level of impressive.

As shown in the clip above, one player connects their 8BitDo controller to their smartwatch via Bluetooth. Once that is done, they browse their smartwatch and fans can see that they have games like Freefire, Among Us, and GTA San Andreas loaded in. The player navigates to GTA San Andreas and starts a new game. The fact that the device could launch the game was impressive, but what makes it better is that the game doesn’t look like it’s having any issues with lag.

Although the display of a smartwatch is not the best to play GTA on, the fact that it even runs is a sight to behold. While the clip demonstrates a little gameplay from the game, the caption to the post states “Maybe, just maybe, one day, we will see GTA on Quest3 in VR”. While GTA is one of the most beloved franchises it’s not uncommon for players to look to play the game on as many devices as possible. This clip might come as a surprise to everyone, but the comments section of the clip got the best of it.

Unusual comments start flowing in

It’s not a surprise that many gamers were shocked after watching this clip. Almost everyone in the comments section was surprised to see the game play out. One comment on the post stated, “has science gone too far” pointing out how it is possible to have such computing power come in something as small as a smartwatch.

Another player brings to notice how back in the day, even their PC couldn’t handle this game, and the original poster agreed with this.

One user shared their thoughts on how everyone is wondering how this was made possible, but no one was asking why was this done in the first place.

In the comments section, there was one user who wanted to see multiplayer in GTA San Andreas on the smartwatch and called in the open multiplayer mods for GTA San Andreas.
